Small steps. New experiences. A growing sense of what’s possible.

Every young person has potential. Sometimes, they simply need the right encouragement, support and someone who believes in them. Through consistent befriending relationships, our volunteer befrienders help young people across Argyll & Bute build confidence, resilience and self-esteem, try new things and discover their strengths. Because sometimes, growth starts with something as simple as having someone there.

GET INVOLVED IN GROWING BRIGHTER FUTURES

WORKING TOGETHER TO SUPPORT OUR COMMUNITIES.

We work closely with families and partner agencies to ensure children and young people in Argyll and Bute have all the support they need to thrive.  To do this we need to raise awareness and funds and also recruit volunteers.

ADAM, AGE 12

Adam found it difficult to believe in himself and often compared himself to others. Through patience, encouragement and a consistent relationship with his befriender, he began to recognise his own strengths and grow in confidence.

ALLIE, AGE 17

For Allie, creativity became a way to express herself and build confidence. With encouragement and a safe, non-judgemental relationship, she discovered her voice and went on to study creative writing at college.

DANIEL, AGE 8

Daniel’s befriender provided a consistent source of support through big changes, including moving school and experiencing social difficulties. Over time, their relationship helped Daniel build friendships, confidence and resilience.
